We all love unboxing packages. We remember our childhood self, and how excited we were to see what’s in the box. These are exciting moments – whether it’s a gift or a product which we’ve ordered ourselves. 

This is how each of your customers should feel when they open their packages from you online store.

The customer experience in your online store is worth nothing if the product arrives late, or the packaging arrives in improper condition.

A well-organized shipping is a great investment which pays off because it’s one of the conditions for an outstanding customer experience.

But this won’t happen on its own: the quality of the product should be good, and it needs proper logistics, packaging, and shipping. As an online store you should be extra careful with this because your customers can only judge you by this – hopefully positively.

NICE PACKAGING IS COOL!

You’ve probably heard of the unboxing videos which are popular among influencers, where the brands ship their goods in stunning packaging. Companies use different creative ideas to up their packaging game, and we’ll share a few with you.

LET’S SEE WHAT TOOLS ARE AT HAND:

Choose an elegant ribbon and put your brand’s logo on it. You can wrap it around the product to make it look extravagant.

  • a kind message, quote

We humans love inspiring and kind thoughts, so feel free to leave small messages in the box. It doesn’t cost a lot, but it means a lot. 

  • stylish stickers

A small thing, but it makes everyone smile, and it even can be an ornament for a laptop.

  • coupon

This can be a coupon which is valid for a few weeks after the purchase, or it can be a discount from the next purchase, the main point is to make it unique – so it will surely have an impact. 

  • dedicated greeting/thank-you card

Everyone likes to feel special, that is why you should write the name of your customer on these always.

  • product sample

Everybody likes gifts, especially from a store where they sell goods which fit their style and needs. 

PAY ATTENTIONT TO DETAILS!

Besides the above-mentioned gifts, do not forget about the quality of the packaging. 

Make sure that the box is durable, so it won’t easily get damaged during shipping, and if possible, you should adjust it to the image of your online store. You can do this in the form of a custom-made box, but a perfect and cost-effective solution for this is if you print on the surface of the box. For the sake of elegance and environmental awareness avoid using plastic bubble wraps if the product is not very fragile. Replace it with a custom textile cloth with a logo on it, crepe paper or tissue paper – these will be to your customer’s liking for sure. 

As an online store owner, you should know that customer experience is not only important during the order phase, but even when the customers receive their goods.

You cannot emphasize this enough, it’s easier and more cost-effective to keep a current customer than to get a new one. For this you must make unboxing such an experience which the customer would like to relive again and again.
